Santiago Gimenez announced his own injury, and there have been several questions asked as a result of the AC Milan striker's post. When Ardon Jashari posted about his injury on Instagram, he was confirming reports and a press release from the club. However, when Gimenez took to Instagram this week, it was not close to being the same. Instead, it was more of a personal statement released by him and from him that he was going to be out for a period.

Scunthorpe United player Jonathan Gjoshe "sustained non-life-threatening injuries" when he was slashed across the bicep, the club told the BBC. Anthony Williams, 32, of no fixed abode, has been charged over the incident. Matt Ellis, from the Iron Bru podcast, said they set up the fundraiser to help the player while he recovers from his injuries. It was "absolutely horrendous", Mr Ellis said. He praised both Scunthorpe Utd fans and the wider football community for supporting the appeal.

The New York Mets announced Wednesday that star shortstop Francisco Lindor underwent an elbow debridement procedure on his right arm, but is expected to be ready for full baseball activities come spring training. Debridement surgery removes painful or damaged areas of a tendon, and it was deemed a minor procedure to clean up Lindor's nagging elbow. Lindor had surgery to remove bone spurs from that same elbow in 2023, but it has done little to keep him off the field.

Barkov is currently undergoing evaluation to determine how serious the injury is.
