"It's the Olympic Games and I feel terrible that he may not be able to keep playing, Just sending his family and him my best. You never want to see a guy go down, in a tournament like this, especially."
"It's an unfortunate play. He got tangled up there and fell, twisted his leg, but there's no intention for sure. It's just an unfortunate play. Stuff like that is hard to watch, honestly. Kevin's a big part of our group, and in hockey, stuff like that happens... I hope it's better than it looked like, but we wish Kevin the best."
With 2:50 remaining in the third period, Kevin Fiala collided awkwardly with Team Canada forward Wilson at the boards and suffered a serious left-leg injury. Both players tumbled to the ice and Wilson's full weight landed on Fiala's left leg, prompting urgent medical attention and a stretcher to remove Fiala lying on his stomach. Canada held a 5-1 lead and Wilson expressed remorse, saying he did not intend a late big hit and sending best wishes to Fiala and his family. Swiss teammates described the play as unfortunate with no intent, and opposing players skated over to offer support.
