The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to hire Mike McCoy as the assistant head coach under Klint Kubiak, sources told ESPN. McCoy was recently an offensive assistant turned interim head coach for the Tennessee Titans after the team fired Brian Callahan in October. McCoy brings a ton of experience to the first-time head coach Kubiak's staff. He spent four seasons as the Los Angeles Chargers' head coach (2013-2016).

Arizona is interviewing a number of candidates for defensive coordinator, while Giants special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial has emerged as a leading candidate to take over as special teams coordinator, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Ghobrial, 37, has spent the last two years with the Giants. Before that, he served as the Jets' assistant special teams coordinator on Robert Saleh 's staff, overlapping for two years with LaFleur. Ghobrial previously worked for a number of college programs as well as the Lions in 2017. The Giants had a solid year on special teams in 2025. They ranked fifth in yards per kickoff return (27.7) and 10th in average starting field position (31.3). Cornerback Deonte Banks also recorded one of the NFL's five kick return touchdowns last year.

"I think we have become a more diverse league across every platform including coaching, but we still have more work to do," Goodell said. "There's got to be more steps. We're reevaluating everything we're doing, including the accelerator program, including every aspect of our policies in our program to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow rather than yesterday. We need to be looking at that and why did we have those results this year?"

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals are expected to hire Mike LaFleur as their new head coach with the Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator set to receive a five-year contract, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday. The Cardinals met with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak on Saturday night but with Kubiak expected to become the Raiders' head coach after the Super Bowl, Arizona pivoted to another offensive coordinator in the NFC West.

The two-time Coach of the Year has loomed as one of the top candidates since his Browns tenure came to an expected end. Stefanski is nearing a tour of interested teams for second interviews. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the list of teams expected to arrange a follow-up includes the Falcons, Ravens and Titans. Both Atlanta and Tennessee came up as aggressive Harbaugh suitors.
