The popular FPS' social media revealed that the movie's theatrical release date will be June 30, 2028. A film adaptation of the game franchise was first revealed last year.

Sony's adaptation of the Metal Gear Solid franchise is officially in the works, with directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein taking over the project. The film has had a long development history since Hideo Kojima first announced it in 2006.
