Tom Wilson was cleared for contact for the first time since suffering his lower-body injury per Monumental Sports Network's Tarik El-Bashir. The development comes as Wilson missed his fifth straight game on Tuesday night, a 3-2 overtime victory over the Montreal Canadiens. Prior to Wednesday morning's practice, the 31-year-old winger had been skating for several days but only in a light blue, no-contact jersey.
The Rangers will activate Tyler Mahle from the 60-day injured list for Friday's series opener against the Marlins. He is listed as the probable starter against a yet to be announced pitcher for Miami. Texas has a full 40-man roster and will need to designate someone for assignment or transfer one of Marcus Semien, Nathan Eovaldi or Sam Haggerty to the 60-day injured list.
The Washington Capitals are starting to look like a full team again. With the start of Training Camp officially just 16 days away, the regular group on the ice for informal skates grew yet again. Among the latest players to return to MedStar Capitals Iceplex are defenseman Martin Fehervary and prospect forwards Ryan Leonard and Andrew Cristall.
