I want to grow brands that I'm passionate about, and dirty soda has always been a part of my life. It wasn't just this viral moment that people who watch Secret Lives saw. It was something that's more sustainable.
Kacey Musgraves is back with her latest single, Dry Spell, which is full of horny double entendres and signals a return to her earlier, humorous style. Courtney Barnett celebrated the early release of her highly anticipated fourth album, Creature of Habit, with an intimate performance at Rough Trade in NYC, featuring five new songs and two older tracks.
At the time, she told US Weekly, "I loved the idea of how all these guys always are stealing other guys' girls and I was like, 'There's no female anthem for a girl stealing another guy's girl,' so she went ahead and made one. The single's visuals brought a story to that idea, following suburban teen friends Coley and Sonya as they realize they have deeper feelings for each other, despite the fact that the latter has a boyfriend."
I didn't hear Deceptacon by Le Tigre when it was released in 1999, but I was at a friend's house while he was out, going through all his records, and played it by random. It shook me to the core and I think I played it 100 times in on repeat, dancing around, completely excited. I had never heard something so angry and feminine.
I want people to go on a journey. Some people say their inner child is being healed - my music is doing something for people. Madison Beer may only be 26, but she is something of a veteran in the pop industry. She got her start at 13, after Justin Bieber tweeted a link to a YouTube video of her covering Etta James's At Last, and has spent the intervening decade-plus toiling away in mainstream pop, amassing a huge gen Z fanbase in the process including more than 60 million followers between Instagram and TikTok.
On Friday, Hybe, the South Korean-turned-multinational entertainment conglomerate, and Geffen, the American label owned by Universal Music Group, announced that Bannerman would be going on a "temporary hiatus" to "focus on her health and well-being." The statement pledges that this decision was made "after open and thoughtful conversations together" and that the group will continue with their scheduled activities.
Designed by Korean up-and-comer Woojin Yang, Everglow is a handheld mini-keyboard that fits into any bag. The "musical sketchbook" of sorts allows artists to quickly jot down ideas when they're not in front of their instruments or computers. The sleekly-designed device comes with a generative AI-based sound system that allows them to iterate and develop a song on the spot, not just transcribe the initial tune.
The 24-year-old Queens rapper spent the 10 hours before her sixth LP dropped walking on a giant self-propelled wheel on view in a gallery in Lower Manhattan, staring ahead and staying quiet as the record played on a loop. The exhibit streamed live on Twitch; inside the gallery, fellow streamers and a smattering of real fans with signs and bouquets watched, too.
