Albarn and Hewlett, joined by producers James Ford, Samuel Egglenton, percussionist Remi Kabaka Jr. and Argentine EDM DJ Bizarrap, recorded the album all over the world, making for their most cosmopolitan affair yet, and mostly for the better. While unexpected artistic pairings have become less novel in their quarter century since 2001's Gorillaz broke down genre lines, Albarn still has a flair for the unexpected.

"Damascus" is a briskly-paced, uptempo groove that features Souleyman singing proudly throughout. Filling in the space between the drums and soaring vocals is Bey, rapping a refrain that drips potent imagery. "Navigating the waves in the dark, no map/ Stars in the heavens and the breeze on my back," he raps, extremely close to a chant.

The festival announced Gorillaz for the top slot and Ireland's very own Fontaines D.C will take the Sunday night headline slot. And the iconic lineup continues with Irish star CMAT joining the headliners, along with the following acts: Sombr, Zara Larsson, Skepta, Wunderhorse, Role Model and Geese. Electric Picnic will take place from August 28 to August next year and tickets sold out within 90 minutes of going on sale.

The track features the Argentine rap prodigy Trueno, who delivers such lines as, "Yo no sé qué va a pasar mañana/ Cuando atienda la luz que me llama/ Mami mi futuro me reclama/ Camino hacia la luz/ I have nothing to lose," which translates as "I don't know what tomorrow holds/ When I heed the light that's calling me/ Baby, my future is demanding me/ I walk toward the light/ I have nothing to lose."

This bundle of Gorillaz cosmetics will be in the Fortnite shop all season long. When Metallica was the headlining artist, there were skins for each member in both the shop and in the music pass. With Gorillaz, the four fictional, cartoon members of the group are split between the pass and the item shop, and it's 2D and Noodle who will be on shop duty throughout Season 10. Naturally, all the Gorillaz skins are cel shaded.

Japanese Breakfast's performance at Coachella featured a unique cover of Gorillaz's 'On Melancholy Hill', showcasing their versatility and collaborative spirit.
