The band just announced a forthcoming West Coast run of shows aptly titled the Mutate, Don't Stagnate tour, with plans to add more soon. "It's incredible to see our music resonate with fans of all ages," co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh added in a statement. "From those who've been with us since the beginning more than 50 years ago to a whole new generation discovering Devo for the first time. This tour is a celebration for everyone who's been part of our journey."
The two legendary bands were joined by pioneering new wave artist Lene Lovich as the opening act. In the midst of an unseasonably warm stretch of weather, it was a beautiful night on Long Island as Lovich kicked off the outdoor concert at 7 p.m. sharp. Dressed in gothic garb from head to toe, the 76-year-old singer performed a 35-minute set of her classic songs, including her signature tune "Lucky Number."
