Allegations that juror bias and undisclosed pretrial opinions tainted the jury could justify granting Charlie Adelson a new trial.
A California court on Wednesday denied rapper Tory Lanez's appeal of his guilty verdict on charges he fired a gun at Megan Thee Stallion. A three-judge panel from the California 2nd District Court of Appeal said in a ruling they affirm in full the 32-year-old Canadian's conviction on three felony counts. They did not release an opinion with their reasoning.
According to court records, Robinson and two accomplices broke into a family home on a January night in 2012. The burglars restrained the family with zip ties, pistol-whipped the father, and threatened to kill a three-year-old child while attempting to steal money and jewelry. Police arrived during the burglary, leading to a shootout in which one accomplice fatally shot himself. Robinson was found hiding inside the house and arrested after resisting officers.
In June, Richard Satchwell was sentenced to life for the murder of his wife, Tina - a conviction that brought relief to a grieving family, and closure to a community that had searched and waited for six long years. But Satchwell says the court and jury got it wrong. Now, from behind the walls of Limerick Prison, he's preparing an appeal on at least six grounds, insisting he never intended to kill Tina.
