After winning its first playoff game in almost 20 years, the first-place Pistons have been one of this season's biggest surprises behind the play of Most Valuable Player candidate Cade Cunningham and a gritty top-tier defense. Sources told ESPN on Thursday night that it remains unclear how many Ole Miss assistants, who are joining Kiffin at LSU, will be allowed to remain with the Rebels when they face No. 10 Miami on Jan. 8 in a CFP semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl.

The team did lose former first base coach Clayton McCullough, who was named manager of the Miami Marlins after the 2024 season. McCullough was replaced by Chris Woodward, who returned to the Dodgers organization in 2023 after a stint as manager of the Texas Rangers. It appears the Dodgers are losing another member of their coaching staff to the Marlins as catching coordinator Craig Driver is set to be named Miami's new first base coach, via Craig Mish of SportsGrid:

Inter are tied for first place with Roma, and are leading the league despite defeats against Udinese, Juventus and Napoli. Milan are in third and two points back despite stumbles against Cremonese, Pisa and Parma. The Nerazzurri have struggled in the two big matches so far, while the Rossoneri have been the best in the league. Chivu's side are beating the 'lesser' teams with regularity, while Allegri's team continue to drop frustrating points due to defensive lapses.

Dan Fiorito, the club's minor league outfield/infield coordinator, will be promoted to the big league staff. It was reported last month that the Yankees would be moving on from a few coaches, including first base and infield coach Travis Chapman. Per Joyce, Fiorito has been hired to replace Chapman at first and is expected to take over the infield coaching duties as well.

Snitker, 36, is the son of former Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker and spent nearly a decade in the Houston Astros organization. He joined Houston in 2016 and became the club's major league hitting coach in 2019, helping guide one of baseball's top offenses before being dismissed following the 2025 season. Snitker was reportedly a leading candidate for the Mets' vacancy as the team overhauls its coaching staff under manager Carlos Mendoza.
