I didn't expect these types of emotions to run through my brain, or my thoughts to differ. I was pretty committed to making a start and getting back to camp. Things have changed, obviously. That's why I'm gonna have some conversations and try to figure out a plan for me.
At 30 or a few years [younger], this kind of feeling is going to be different. 'I want to see where I'm going to play'. But in this moment, I don't have to know. I have patience. I'll give myself around three months to decide what I want to do. Me, just me.
While it is natural that a twenty year old has more energy than someone in their sixties, staying healthy as you age is absolutely possible.Many people in their sixties stay active, exercise regularly and maintain strong routines. Retirement might give you more free time for fitness, but you can still work out several days a week while managing a full time job.
Soft tossing pitchers don't last very long in this era of velocity, but Kyle Hendricks found a way to make it work for most of his tenure with the Cubs, and even had a serviceable year in Anaheim of Los Angeles, although that did take him out of Immaculate Grid legend territory. Still, a legendary Cub will likely find a job with his long-time club should he choose to continue working in baseball in some capacity.
I've been job hunting for a little over two months. The first month, I focused on updating my portfolio and case studies. The second month was filled with interviews: 10 companies and more than 25 interviews in total, since most had multiple rounds. Eventually, I received 3 offers. One was verbal but didn't move forward because of timing, and 2 were official. I also stopped interviewing with 2 other companies once I accepted the offer, so maybe it could have been more: I guess we'll never know.
