Tarik Skubal, the Detroit Tigers ace and two-time American League Cy Young Award winner, initially planned to make one appearance for Team USA at the World Baseball Classic before returning to spring training. After pitching in Saturday's 9-1 victory over Great Britain, Skubal experienced unexpected emotions and is now reconsidering his departure from the tournament. He is consulting with the Tigers organization and his agent Scott Boras about his options, acknowledging this is one of the tougher decisions of his career. Skubal emphasized he is not in the right headspace to decide immediately and expressed gratitude for Team USA's support of his unique situation.
