This month students across the Alameda Unified School District are engaged in multiple efforts to help the members of our community, including food drives, warm coat drives, toy collections, gift card donations and community efforts to support specific families who may struggling. We at the AUSD are grateful for and impressed by these efforts every year but especially so this year given how many people are struggling.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon will retire effective January 31, 2026, the company announced in a Friday morning surprise, concluding a decade-long tenure that reshaped the retail giant's global strategy and digital presence. John Furner, currently head of Walmart's U.S. operations, will succeed McMillon as president and chief executive officer starting February 1, 2026. Furner was also elected to the company's Board of directors, effective immediately.

On November 10, 2025, MediaAlpha, Inc. appointed Ramon Jones to its Board of Directors, filling a vacancy in Class I. Jones, formerly the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, brings over 25 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. His expertise in digital marketing and customer acquisition is expected to bolster MediaAlpha's market-leading position.

Mary Alice Dorrance Malone Jr. has been elected to Campbell's board, continuing a family legacy that dates back to her great-grandfather's invention of condensed soup.
