At 60, Jill Le Jeune became a sex therapist after a personal journey that stemmed from her marriage ending. Despite her background in trauma therapy, she found discussions about sex more challenging for her clients than heavier topics like suicidal ideation. Inspired by a desire to understand her own experiences, particularly in relation to intimacy and relationships, Le Jeune aims to educate her clients on sexual well-being. Her unique perspective draws from both her own formative experiences and a commitment to destigmatizing conversations about sex and relationships as part of mental health care.
"I thought: actually, I'd rather talk about sex than suicide. She decided to specialise in the subject and, at the age of 60, started to practise as a sex therapist."
"As a psychosexual and relationship therapist, one of the first things Le Jeune asks clients is: How did you learn about the birds and the bees?"
