On average, the participants reported getting 16% of their daily energy from ultra-processed foods, while 19.4% reported having chronic insomnia. Every 10% increase of ultra-processed food in the diet was associated with a higher risk of insomnia.
"Sleep disorders and insomnia represent major public health challenges, given the health status complications they entail. A better understanding of sleep disorders and their determinants seems essential to develop well-targeted prevention strategies."
