Warner Bros exec reportedly cites need to "regain our credibility and swagger at producing great games", as company shutters Shadow of Mordor studio and cancels Wonder Woman
Briefly

Warner Bros. has officially canceled the Wonder Woman game that was being developed by Monolith Productions. This decision comes alongside the closure of Monolith and two other studios, reflecting a trend in the gaming industry during 2025. Warner Bros. stated that the choice was difficult but necessary to align development efforts around core franchises like Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat. The cancellation was attributed to the inability to deliver the desired quality experience for the Wonder Woman character within the company's new strategic framework.
We have had to make some very difficult decisions to structure our development studios and investments around building the best games possible with our key franchises.
The hope was to give players and fans the highest quality experience possible for the iconic character, and unfortunately this is no longer possible within our strategic priorities.
