Marvel Almost Had Its Own Shared Universe Of Video Games, Bungie Co-Founder Says
Briefly

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe transformed filmmaking, a connected video game universe was pitched to Disney by Bungie co-founder Alexander Seropian. On The Fourth Curtain podcast, he and Alex Irvine revealed their ambitious plans for integrating various Marvel games into a cohesive universe with elements like alternative reality games (ARGs) and original content. However, Disney declined to fund the project, leading to its cancellation. Presently, Marvel video games operate within separate universes, contrasting with DC's recent struggles in the gaming space, where several titles have flopped or been canceled.
I was coming out of ARGs at that point and thinking, 'Wouldn't it be cool if we had some ARG aspects?' There would be a place where players could go that all the games touched, and we could move them back and forth from game to game.
It was also a challenge to make the proposed Marvel video game universe stand out from the comics and film adaptations, and in the end, the idea was scrapped.
