Stuck Needham astronaut welcomes newly arrived replacements to the space station

Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who were initially expected to spend just a week aboard the International Space Station (ISS), have marked nine months there following multiple delays concerning Boeing's Starliner capsule. After a SpaceX crew capsule transported replacements from NASA, the two astronauts will prepare to return home after an extended mission that began last June, affected primarily by ongoing technical issues with the Starliner. The recent arrival of their successors led to joyful greetings and a shift in responsibilities aboard the ISS.
"It was a wonderful day. Great to see our friends arrive," Williams told Mission Control.
"Boeing Starliner capsule encountered so many problems that NASA insisted it come back empty, leaving its test pilots behind to wait for a SpaceX lift."
