President Trump's 2020 win in Wisconsin was bolstered by rural support, yet agricultural groups highlight ongoing farmer uncertainties due to federal funding cuts. One farmer, Tammy Fritsch of Two Guernsey Girls Creamery, noted that halted USDA reimbursements for her Dairy Business Innovation grant jeopardized her improvements. Fritsch, who by using her Guernsey cows aimed to expand into ice cream production, expressed the importance of federal support for local businesses. Fortunately, the USDA reversed its previous decision, ensuring $28.6 million in reimbursements would assist over 400 dairy processors.
"Plain and simple, I mean, these are not tax dollars that are wasted. We are growing to help our community, where we're producing a great product here."
"We are making cheese curds today. So, I have approximately 72 pounds of cheese in there," Fritsch later explained.
