MPs urge crackdown on pornography to tackle violence against women

Action must be taken against pornography to help end the epidemic of male violence against women and girls, according to a cross-party group of MPs.A substantial proportion of mainstream pornography features physically aggressive behaviour by men against women, says a report by the group.The MPs say there is extensive evidence that consuming pornography fuels sexual violence and influences viewers' behaviour, or sexual scripts, as well as perpetuating racist stereotypes.
