Watch as thieves steal cigarettes worth 4,000 from shop
Briefly

Seyho "Mario" Kurt, owner of Brooksby Newsagent, faced yet another burglary where thieves stole £4,000 worth of cigarettes. The incident, occurring at 1:30am, involved thieves in a white Range Rover who smashed the storefront. Mistaking Kurt for an accomplice due to the similar vehicle, police initially pulled him over. This incident marks the fifth burglary his shop has suffered since the pandemic. Despite installing new security shutters, Kurt expressed feeling like a 'prisoner' and described the ongoing stress from repeated robberies and shoplifting issues.
"I was coming from my home and the police stopped me. I said 'gentlemen, look I saw on camera the white Range Rover is outside my shop but it's not me, it's the burglar..."
"They got a block out of the car and they smashed the window. They came with a black bag, they put all the cigarettes in it, then they ran away."
"It's a terrible stress, robbery and crime and shoplifting. People don't want to work, the economy isn’t what it was."
