Mum found dead from alcohol poisoning may have laid there for days, court told
Briefly

Daiva Antanaviciene, 57, was discovered deceased in her Dagenham home by a maintenance worker on October 13, 2023. Despite attempts to call for assistance, she was already deceased, with medical examinations revealing rigor mortis and signs of hypostasis. The investigation, carried out by Sergeant Burak Guven and Coroner Nadia Persaud, found that Ms. Antanaviciene had not been seen since October 9 and had a significant history of alcohol abuse, which culminated in a blood alcohol level that was fatal. Tests indicated extreme levels of alcohol, reflecting her struggle with dependence and leading to her untimely death.
Toxicology tests revealed that Daiva Antanaviciene had a blood alcohol level of 412 mg/100 ml, far exceeding lethal limits, which indicated her severe alcohol dependence.
Coroner Nadia Persaud reported that levels above 400 mg of alcohol can lead to fatalities, and Ms. Antanaviciene's high readings reflected her long-standing struggle with alcoholism.
