Anthony Gardiner, having already been jailed for robbery, pleaded guilty to the murder of John Coxon after the police found Gardiner had admitted to the attack on Coxon at the victim's home.
Gardiner exploited the vulnerable Coxon, who suffered from Alzheimer's and was known to have previous convictions for possessing indecent images of children, seeking financial gain from him.
