Mother, daughter dead after fatal Oshawa fire | CBC News

A tragic house fire in Oshawa claimed the lives of a mother and her nine-year-old daughter. Responding firefighters faced heavy smoke and flames upon arrival at the scene on McGrigor St. Four family members were rescued, but unfortunately, a 46-year-old woman and her child died, while another adult and a 12-year-old girl were hospitalized. Local officials, including Todd Wood, deputy chief of Oshawa Fire Services, expressed condolences, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal.
When our crews arrived on scene they encountered heavy smoke and flames from all levels of the house.
