Tamara Whilby says the idea to open Women & Children Precious Shelter came from experiences she had working as a nurse."We were able to see a lot of situations where women were being abused within the city of Brampton and trying to flee," she recalled.One particular incident comes to mind, when she didn't know how to help a woman who was abused, beyond giving her medical attention.
