Microsoft breached antitrust rules by bundling Teams with office software, European Union says
Briefly

Microsoft has been "restricting competition" by bundling Teams with core office applications like Office 365, says the European Commission, suspecting unfair advantage and limited interoperability with rival apps.
"We are concerned that Microsoft may be giving its own communication product Teams an undue advantage over competitors," said Margrethe Vestager, emphasizing the importance of fostering competition and innovation in remote communication and collaboration tools.
Despite Microsoft's efforts to make changes by offering software packages without Teams for European clients, the European Commission insists that more actions are required to "restore competition" within the market.
