"Founding my college T-shirt company was where I got the itch to continue in business."

""Every year the conference includes different speakers from all over the map," said Zach Shulman '87, J.D. '90, director of Entrepreneurship at Cornell. "We also had, for the first time, two sets of spouses interviewing each other. It was a great day.""
Eclectic Convergence 2025 occurred Oct. 31 at the Cornell Tech campus in New York City and featured entrepreneurs connected to Cornell and Weill Cornell Medicine. The conference included a pitch contest; Persista Bio, developing a Type 1 diabetes treatment, won the $5,000 top prize. Entrepreneurs described early ventures that led to continued business pursuits, the value of hiring team members who complement founder strengths, and the importance of taking action over endless planning. Attendees heard founders describe keeping records of hiring mistakes, pursuing dream-phase ideas with venture capital support, and advising startups after successful exits.
