"This new model highlights Taco Bell's plan to disrupt the beverage industry with a Taco Bell twist," the Irvine-based fast food giant states in a news release.
Beverages include Refrescas, Taco Bell's version of aguas frescas in several fruit flavors and Churro Chillers, shakes topped with cold foam and churro pieces.
The move is part of a trend that some restaurant reporters have called a 'beverage boom.' According to Nation's Restaurant News, coffees, smoothies and juices provide customers relatively cheap indulgences.
Taco Bell is not alone in experimenting with beverage-driven concepts. McDonald's announced a similar spinoff called CosMc's a year ago when it opened its first test location in Bolingbrook, Ill.
