In a recent episode of Talking Headways, Jon Kramer, CEO of OHM Advisors, reflects on his career journey, highlighting the intense competition with major engineering firms that hold significant resources and prestigious projects. He acknowledges the limitations for smaller firms in securing massive contracts, exemplified by the Gordie Howe Bridge project. However, Kramer emphasizes the unique advantages smaller firms possess, such as agility and a personalized company culture that enables them to recognize and celebrate their employees more authentically than larger firms can.

We're able to offer things that they can't, whether that's just being more nimble... recognizing people, with real heartfelt emotions in a way that a 10,000-person firm can't.
I take a neutral position on that... it was easy for me when we were real... to compete against larger firms.
