An apparent fatal stabbing outside a San Francisco BART station early Wednesday led to the closure of the system during the morning commute, causing significant disruption.
BART spokesperson Jim Allison stated that police were on the scene investigating the incident, and the station was closed for about 40 minutes while a suspect was being searched for.
Trains operated on a single-track basis through the station before all services were temporarily halted, affecting morning commuters trying to get to their destinations.
The police investigation prompted the closure of Market Street from Main to Beale Street as authorities worked to uncover the details surrounding the stabbing incident.
