San Francisco's SoMa welcomes Shoji, a new cafe by Chef Ingi "Shota" Son. Located in the Pacific Bell building, it initially gained attention as Comorebi. The cafe features high-end coffee drinks in a luxurious ambiance, with a bar menu collaboration by Chef Intu-on Kornnawong. Shoji aims to present an elegant Japanese-inspired dining experience with warming dishes and specialty coffee drinks. Evening hours will commence by mid-March, further enhancing its appeal.
"This is the sneak peek collab between me and Ingi," Kornnawong says.
Guests can expect the addition of those nighttime hours by mid-March.
The team calls a wall of beans in test tubes the 'coffee cellar,' vials of beans from places like El Salvador and Kenya lining an abacus-looking apparatus on the wall.
Son brings his experience as a sushi chef, and Kornnawong will bring warming dishes to the menu.
