The architects successfully designed a third shop in Fukushima City's commercial area between two contrasting existing buildings. The new structure features a 3.5-meter-high ceiling with exposed wooden beams, a continuous semi-exterior space that connects all three shops, and utilizes natural light effectively. The design incorporates a unique curved wall for aesthetic depth and employs wooden elements for visual continuity. The layout creatively utilizes the building's limited space by separating commercial and office functions, ensuring a fluid connection among the shops while enhancing the overall commercial experience in the area.
The newly designed shop in Fukushima ingeniously merges architectural forms, utilizing a semi-exterior wooden space to connect with its contrasting neighboring buildings—enhancing both function and aesthetic.
By receding the outline of the buildings and utilizing wooden elements, the design establishes a harmonious relationship with existing shops, creating a unified commercial experience in the limited space.
