On Feb. 27, 2025, a judge ruled against the Sheriff's court challenge of a vote which would allow supervisors to oust her from office.
San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Nicole Healy ruled the election can proceed, stating that the county followed proper legal protocols.
Thomas 'Tip' Mazzucco described Sheriff Corpus as 'a fighter' but expressed disappointment over the judge's ruling allowing the election to proceed.
In December, supervisors voted no confidence in Corpus, advancing Measure A to give them authority to remove a sheriff for-cause.
