Controversial Bay Area Costco moves forward despite neighbor opposition

Since Costco first proposed building a warehouse at 5287 Prospect Road in 2021, West San Jose neighbors have opposed it for reasons including traffic and pedestrian safety. But despite their concerns, the planning commission decided at a meeting on Wednesday that the project's environmental impact report did not identify any significant or unavoidable impacts as long as certain mitigation measures are taken.
In short, it's not appropriate for the site. It's too big, it's too unsafe and it has too many negative effects that are going to hit the neighborhood and sensitive populations that surround it,
