"The COVID pandemic heightened employers' awareness of the importance of well-being, and many of the best organizations worked to create a positive work climate," Michelle Barton, PhD, said. "The challenge now will be to integrate those practices into everyday work life, rather than simply as a crisis response."
The annual survey of over 1.5 million people across more than 2,500 firms revealed workplace well-being has been steadily declining since 2020, presenting concerns for all industries.
The decline in workplace well-being varied notably, with healthcare and retail/hospitality experiencing the lowest scores, emphasizing a need for targeted interventions.
Employers who invest in their employees' well-being, both financially and emotionally, received higher scores in the workplace well-being climate, highlighting the value of comprehensive support.
