""the UK workforce is bending the workplace rulebook" as they demand greater autonomy, and even four-day work weeks, just as bosses play ever harder ball to get them back in the office."
"Over 90 percent of workers surveyed said they would "take action" if they lost the right to work remotely or hybrid, with flexibility "the main driver of career decisions and satisfaction at work.""
""What we're seeing is employers using the softer labor market to push for more face-to-face time, whether that's to encourage collaboration, rebuild office culture, or simply because they feel they can," said Jack Kennedy, Senior economist at Indeed."
A survey of UK workers shows strong support for flexible working and a readiness to act if remote or hybrid rights are removed. More than 90% said they would "take action" if forced to give up remote or hybrid options, and many view flexibility as the main driver of career decisions and job satisfaction. Half of workers cited better work–life balance as a reason to seek new jobs, with 42% naming career opportunities or pay. In-office attendance rose to 51% from 42%, hybrid fell to 45%, and fully remote dropped to 4%. Many employers kept policies unchanged while some large firms press for more on-site time.
