Uber is enforcing stricter return-to-office policies by requiring employees to work in the office three days a week starting in June, up from two. This change affects even those with prior remote work approvals. Moreover, eligibility for a month-long paid sabbatical is now shifted from five to eight years with the company. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi acknowledged employee dissatisfaction but emphasized that leadership's responsibility is to act in the best interests of customers and shareholders, promoting the benefits of in-person work for collaboration and innovation.
It is what it is, Khosrowshahi told allegedly angered staffers during an all-hands-on-deck meeting after the company enforced the stricter policy.
