"Employees didn't really fight for it. Covid forced management on the subject, but it's a social gain," said Marc Rutschel, the Solidaires Informatique union delegate at Ubisoft.
"There is no acquired right to telework. It is a collective organization that is not irreversible," said Anne Vincent, associate lawyer at Voltaire Avocats.
"Employees must have the choice," is the sentiment expressed by trade unionists and teleworkers who advocate for maintaining telecommuting options.
The movement continues today, with companies like Ubisoft re-opening negotiations to solidify telecommuting agreements that have been established since the pandemic.
