Starbucks has informed its corporate employees that they could face termination if they do not return to the office three days a week, introducing stricter compliance measures.
CEO Brian Niccol's work arrangement allows him to live in California and travel to Seattle on a corporate jet, leading to a perception of double standards among employees.
Starbucks clarified that while hybrid working expectations remain unchanged, exceptions can be made for employees with physical, mental or sensory impairments, or other disabilities.
The company stated that it supports leaders in holding their teams accountable to the revised hybrid work policy, which impacts around 3,500 corporate employees.
