Dell is the latest company to go all-in on a 5-day return to office

Companies such as Amazon, AT&T, and Dell are mandating a return-to-office (RTO) policy, aiming for a full-time presence despite employee dissatisfaction. Employees at Amazon and AT&T have expressed frustration, with some contemplating resignations. Dell plans to fully end its hybrid approach in March 2025, requiring most employees within an hour's commute to work in the office five days a week. This move raises concerns about morale and workspace availability. Moreover, employees working remotely face promotion restrictions, emphasizing leadership's preference for in-person collaboration over technological communication.

In a statement to Fast Company, a Dell spokesperson added, "While some flexibility will be offered, the expectation is for employees to engage and collaborate in a community setting."
