The growth of CBDC trials has reached a significant number, with 134 countries now exploring the concept. However, only three have implemented it fully: the Bahamas, Nigeria, and Jamaica. Despite the attention CBDCs are receiving, they are not yet a global reality, and true implementation remains distant.
The public perception of CBDCs is mainly negative, especially in the U.S., where only 16% support the idea. Concerns about government control and the politicization of digital currencies have made widespread acceptance difficult, highlighting the complexities behind adopting CBDCs.
