Police systems and online utility payments remain down after North Miami cyberattack

"It's a painstaking examination of evidence as they go long and figure out... what systems are okay to use now," said Councilman Scott Galvin, showing the challenges of assessing cybersecurity breaches.
"The world becomes pre-Aug. 4 and after Aug. 4 with data...we won't be able to look back at pre-Aug. 4 yet," highlighted Galvin about the lasting impact of the cyber incident on city data.
"Residents are unable to pay their utility bills online... utilities will not be shut down even if payments are stalled, given the situation," Galvin reassured concerned residents about the ongoing service.
