National Public Data breach: Lawsuit claims nearly three billion people had personal data exposed

USDoD listed National Public Data on the dark web, claiming to have 2.9 billion people's sensitive information like social security numbers, selling access for $3.5 million.

The data breach, if confirmed, could be one of the largest in history; individuals affected were likely unaware NPD had collected their data.

USDoD clarified they were a middleman in the data breach, giving credit to an individual called 'SXUL' for the compromise.
