Man arrested as gardai investigate hit-and-run, criminal damage and firearm seizure in Cork

Gardaí are investigating a criminal damage incident in Shanakiel, Cork, with no reported injuries. Later, a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian, leading to non-life threatening injuries for the pedestrian.
Following the collision, the motorcyclist and passenger left the scene. Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s and seized a suspected firearm, currently investigating further.
Authorities are appealing for public assistance, urging anyone with information or video footage related to the incidents to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line.
The arrested man remains detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, while investigations into both incidents in Cork are ongoing.
