YouTube's growing popularity as a podcast platform has led to more than 1 billion monthly active viewers of podcast content. The platform consciously started integrating podcasts about four years ago, recognizing the emerging trend. YouTube's executive Tim Katz discussed the importance of supporting the podcasting community and the platform's initiative to provide such support through structured programs, propelling YouTube ahead of traditional audio podcast platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
When we noticed the increase in audience engagement, we realized it was time to actively support podcasting on our platform, hence our structured initiative started four years ago.
