A 16-year-old boy from Corona has been arrested and charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Byron Lema-Naula. Police were called to a house on 35th Avenue early on January 26 and found Lema-Naula with a severe neck wound. He died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The incident reportedly arose from a dispute between the two, with the victim renting a room from the suspect's family. The community expressed shock over the violence, attributing it partly to recent changes in tenancy within the home.
Cops say a knife was recovered at the scene, and the teen was taken into custody and taken to the 115th, where he was questioned and placed under arrest around 4:30 p.m.
Neighbors claimed that a new landlord bought the home recently and began renting out rooms to young tenants. However, they also said the house has become a revolving door of new faces.
