The red "Pat Patriot" look will be worn at home games against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 and the New York Giants in Week 10. The franchise wore its classic red-and-white look for over 30 seasons from 1960 to 1993, but alternate uniforms were restricted in 2013. Following a rule change in 2022, the "Pat Patriot" look returned, allowing for two appearances each season.
The Patriots' classic red-and-white look from 1960 to 1993 has been sporadically used since then, with previous occurrences totaling 12 between 1994 and 2012, resulting in a 9-3 record. In the six games since the return of the "Pat Patriot" uniform under the new rules, only one ended in victory, a 29-0 win over the Detroit Lions in 2022.
