Every February, hundreds of couples gather in Times Square to renew their wedding vows in the annual 'Love in Times Square' event. It’s an inclusive celebration where couples can reaffirm their love in a vibrant and romantic atmosphere. The event features performances and welcoming speeches, including a heartfelt tribute from the Times Square Alliance Director. This year, the author reflected on her own experience after 11 years of marriage, appreciating the unique joy of sharing such a moment in a community of love.
After 11 years married, it was a truly special moment. This time around, we were surrounded by thousands of strangers in our new home of New York.
The free ceremony is open to people of all ages, genders, religions, races and backgrounds, making it an inclusive celebration of love.
Several couples come back year after year to renew their vows at Love in Times Square—a very sweet tradition for many.
The evening began with a welcome from Joe Papa, Time Square Alliance's Director of Events, who called it 'the most romantic day of the year.'
