The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side was about my own life in high school: I became very popular once I had a car. I wrote batches of animal songs, and plant songs.
I initially conceived the album as a poster, to get myself out of obscurity: I pictured glitzy gold-leaf calligraphy reading Come and hear 100 songs.
