This Country Was Named the No. 1 Wellness Destination in Asia - and It's Famous for Hot Springs and Forest Bathing
Briefly

Book Retreats recently released its Holiday Relaxation Report, ranking the best global relaxation destinations. They focused on wellness by analyzing 76 places based on safety, solitude, and natural environments, ranking them on wellness experiences. Japan topped the charts in Asia and placed second worldwide, credited for its mix of ancient traditions and modern wellness practices. The report highlights the country’s extensive onsens, with a spotlight on Banyan Tree Higashiyama in Kyoto, known for its private onsen amenities, enabling a luxurious and intimate relaxation experience.
Having a private onsen in your suite is a true luxury. It lets you unwind whenever you please in the comfort of your room. I found myself using the onsen whenever I had downtime, which I wouldn't have normally done in a communal space.
The country's network of onsen and established healing practices like reiki offer visitors authentic therapeutic experiences in settings from remote mountain villages to vibrant cultural capitals.
